Hmmm- this wouldn’t violate the rules or anyone’s contracts, but it would suck.
I write for Demand studios and for eHow
I picked up a strange title at demand Studios, and I googled it because that’s usually a good way to figure out what the strange titles mean.
The first result was an eHow article.
It was very poorly written and probably not surviving the quality sweeps.
There are lessons here- Keep your eggs in many baskets. I wonder how eHow is redirecting the URLs of articles that have been removed? Are they ending up with a 404 error,or are they simply replacing them with the work of DS writers, for continuity?
And another thing to ponder- a well done article can bring in more than $5-$15,which is what DS pays. They could, conceivably, buy out all the profitable titles, because they own themselves. It would be in their best interest. And it wouldn’t violate their agreement with the WCP writers at all.
Writers- Keep your eggs in many baskets.
DS &eHow- play nice, because today.com pissed off a lot of people and it was ugly. I can’t picture Richard being the kind of Jerk that the guy from Today.com was, slamming his own writers and criticizing them for working for low pay. It seems like a much more team-oriented environment and I’m sure there are no ill intentions.
However,I’ve been wrong before, about people I knew better than this, and paid the price.
READ your contracts
BACK UP your work and
KNOW your rights
And don’t listen to any of my negativity,it’s really a naughty quality and I don’t mean to drag anyone down with my awful what-iffing,but it’s me and it’s what I do.
